بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ أَلْهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ
La course aux richesses vous distrait,
Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you
شغلكم عن طاعة الله التفاخر بكثرة الأموال والأولاد.
The craving for ever-greater worldly gains and to excel others in that regard keeps you occupied
حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ ٱلْمَقَابِرَ
jusqu'à ce que vous visitiez les tombes.
Until you visit the graveyards.
واستمر اشتغالكم بذلك إلى أن صرتم إلى المقابر، ودُفنتم فيها.
until you reach your graves.
كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
Mais non! Vous saurez bientôt!
No! You are going to know.
ما هكذا ينبغي أن يُلْهيكم التكاثر بالأموال، سوف تتبيَّنون أن الدار الآخرة خير لكم.
Nay, you will soon come to know;
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
(Encore une fois)! Vous saurez bientôt!
Then no! You are going to know.
ثم احذروا سوف تعلمون سوء عاقبة انشغالكم عنها.
nay, again, you shall soon come to know.
كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ ٱلْيَقِينِ
Sûrement! Si vous saviez de science certaine.
No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty...
ما هكذا ينبغي أن يلهيكم التكاثر بالأموال، لو تعلمون حق العلم لانزجرتم، ولبادرتم إلى إنقاذ أنفسكم من الهلاك. لتبصرُنَّ الجحيم، ثم لتبصرُنَّها دون ريب، ثم لتسألُنَّ يوم القيامة عن كل أنواع النعيم.
Nay, would that you knew with certainty of knowledge (what your attitude will lead to, you would never have acted the way you do).
لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ
Vous verrez, certes, la Fournaise.
You will surely see the Hellfire.
ما هكذا ينبغي أن يلهيكم التكاثر بالأموال، لو تعلمون حق العلم لانزجرتم، ولبادرتم إلى إنقاذ أنفسكم من الهلاك. لتبصرُنَّ الجحيم، ثم لتبصرُنَّها دون ريب، ثم لتسألُنَّ يوم القيامة عن كل أنواع النعيم.
You will surely end up seeing Hell;
ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ ٱلْيَقِينِ
Puis, vous la verrez certes, avec l'œil de la certitude.
Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.
ما هكذا ينبغي أن يلهيكم التكاثر بالأموال، لو تعلمون حق العلم لانزجرتم، ولبادرتم إلى إنقاذ أنفسكم من الهلاك. لتبصرُنَّ الجحيم، ثم لتبصرُنَّها دون ريب، ثم لتسألُنَّ يوم القيامة عن كل أنواع النعيم.
again, you shall most certainly end up seeing it with absolute certainty.
ثُمَّ لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
Puis, assurément, vous serez interrogés, ce jour-là, sur les délices.
Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure.
ما هكذا ينبغي أن يلهيكم التكاثر بالأموال، لو تعلمون حق العلم لانزجرتم، ولبادرتم إلى إنقاذ أنفسكم من الهلاك. لتبصرُنَّ الجحيم، ثم لتبصرُنَّها دون ريب، ثم لتسألُنَّ يوم القيامة عن كل أنواع النعيم.
Then, on that Day, you will be called to account for all the bounties you enjoyed.
