بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٱقْتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلْقَمَرُ
L'Heure approche et la Lune s'est fendue.
The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two].
دنت القيامة، وانفلق القمر فلقتين، حين سأل كفار "مكة" النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أن يريهم آية، فدعا الله، فأراهم تلك الآية.
The Hour of Resurrection drew near and the moon split asunder.
وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ ءَايَةًۭ يُعْرِضُوا۟ وَيَقُولُوا۟ سِحْرٌۭ مُّسْتَمِرٌّۭ
Et s'ils voient un prodige, ils s'en détournent et disent: «Une magie persistante».
And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magic."
وإن ير المشركون دليلا وبرهانًا على صدق الرسول محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، يُعرضوا عن الإيمان به وتصديقه مكذبين منكرين، ويقولوا بعد ظهور الدليل: هذا سحر باطل ذاهب مضمحل لا دوام له.
(Regardless of any Signs these people see), they turn away and say: “This is an ongoing sorcery.”
وَكَذَّبُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍۢ مُّسْتَقِرٌّۭ
Et ils [le] traitent de mensonge et suivent leurs propres impulsions, or chaque chose arrivera à son terme [et son but].
And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement.
وكذَّبوا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، واتبعوا ضلالتهم وما دعتهم إليه أهواؤهم من التكذيب، وكلُّ أمر من خير أو شر واقع بأهله يوم القيامة عند ظهور الثواب والعقاب.
They also gave the lie to (the splitting asunder of the moon) and only followed their desires. Yet everything is destined to reach an end.
وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَنۢبَآءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ
Ils ont pourtant reçu comme nouvelles de quoi les empêcher (du mal);
And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence -
ولقد جاء كفار قريش من أنباء الأمم المكذبة برسلها، وما حلَّ بها من العذاب، ما فيه كفاية لردعهم عن كفرهم وضلالهم.
Surely there came to them narratives (of the ancient nations) that should suffice to deter (them from transgression),
حِكْمَةٌۢ بَٰلِغَةٌۭ ۖ فَمَا تُغْنِ ٱلنُّذُرُ
[Cela est] une sagesse parfaite. Mais les avertissements ne [leur] servent à rien.
Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [them].
هذا القرآن الذي جاءهم حكمة عظيمة بالغة غايتها، فأي شيء تغني النذر عن قوم أعرضوا وكذَّبوا بها؟
narratives that are full of consummate wisdom. But warnings do not avail them.
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ ۘ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ ٱلدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَىْءٍۢ نُّكُرٍ
Détourne-toi d'eux. Le jour où l'appeleur appellera vers une chose affreuse,
So leave them, [O Muhammad]. The Day the Caller calls to something forbidding,
فأعرض -أيها الرسول- عنهم، وانتظر بهم يومًا عظيمًا. يوم يدعو الملك بنفخه في "القرن" إلى أمر فظيع منكر، وهو موقف الحساب.
So turn away from them, (O Prophet). On the Day when a caller shall call them to a thing most terrible,
خُشَّعًا أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌۭ مُّنتَشِرٌۭ
les regards baissés, ils sortiront des tombes comme des sauterelles éparpillées,
Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading,
ذليلة أبصارهم يخرجون من القبور كأنهم في انتشارهم وسرعة سيرهم للحساب جرادٌ منتشر في الآفاق، مسرعين إلى ما دُعُوا إليه، يقول الكافرون: هذا يوم عسر شديد الهول.
with down-cast eyes they shall go forth from their graves, as though they were scattered locusts.
مُّهْطِعِينَ إِلَى ٱلدَّاعِ ۖ يَقُولُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌۭ
courant, le cou tendu, vers l'appeleur. Les mécréants diront: «Voilà un jour difficile».
Racing ahead toward the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day."
ذليلة أبصارهم يخرجون من القبور كأنهم في انتشارهم وسرعة سيرهم للحساب جرادٌ منتشر في الآفاق، مسرعين إلى ما دُعُوا إليه، يقول الكافرون: هذا يوم عسر شديد الهول.
They shall be hurrying forth towards the caller, and the unbelievers (who had once denied this Day), will say: “This is a woeful Day.”
۞ كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍۢ فَكَذَّبُوا۟ عَبْدَنَا وَقَالُوا۟ مَجْنُونٌۭ وَٱزْدُجِرَ
Avant eux, le peuple de Noé avait crié au mensonge. Ils traitèrent Notre serviteur de menteur et dirent: «C'est un possédé!» et il fut repoussé.
The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, "A madman," and he was repelled.
كذَّبت قبل قومك -أيها الرسول- قوم نوح فكذَّبوا عبدنا نوحًا، وقالوا: هو مجنون، وانتهروه متوعدين إياه بأنواع الأذى، إن لم ينته عن دعوته.
Before them Noah's people also gave the lie (to his Message). They rejected Our servant as a liar, saying: “He is a madman”; and he was rebuffed.
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّى مَغْلُوبٌۭ فَٱنتَصِرْ
Il invoqua donc son Seigneur: «Moi, je suis vaincu. Fais triompher (Ta cause)».
So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help."
فدعا نوح ربه أنِّي ضعيف عن مقاومة هؤلاء، فانتصر لي بعقاب من عندك على كفرهم بك.
Then he called upon His Lord: “Verily I am vanquished; so come You to my aid.”
فَفَتَحْنَآ أَبْوَٰبَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَآءٍۢ مُّنْهَمِرٍۢ
Nous ouvrîmes alors les portes du ciel à une eau torrentielle,
Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring down
فأجبنا دعاءه، ففتحنا أبواب السماء بماء كثير متدفق، وشققنا الأرض عيونًا متفجرة بالماء، فالتقى ماء السماء وماء الأرض على إهلاكهم الذي قدَّره الله لهم؛ جزاء شركهم.
Thereupon We opened the gates of the sky for water to pour down,
وَفَجَّرْنَا ٱلْأَرْضَ عُيُونًۭا فَٱلْتَقَى ٱلْمَآءُ عَلَىٰٓ أَمْرٍۢ قَدْ قُدِرَ
et fîmes jaillir la terre en sources. Les eaux se rencontrèrent d'après un ordre qui était déjà décrété dans une chose [faite].
And caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already predestined.
فأجبنا دعاءه، ففتحنا أبواب السماء بماء كثير متدفق، وشققنا الأرض عيونًا متفجرة بالماء، فالتقى ماء السماء وماء الأرض على إهلاكهم الذي قدَّره الله لهم؛ جزاء شركهم.
and We made the earth burst forth with springs, and all this water converged to fulfil that which had been decreed.
وَحَمَلْنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلْوَٰحٍۢ وَدُسُرٍۢ
Et Nous le portâmes sur un objet [fait] de planches et de clous [l'arche],
And We carried him on a [construction of] planks and nails,
وحملنا نوحًا ومَن معه على سفينة ذات ألواح ومسامير شُدَّت بها، تجري بمرأى منا وحفظ، وأغرقنا المكذبين؛ جزاء لهم على كفرهم وانتصارًا لنوح عليه السلام. وفي هذا دليل على إثبات صفة العينين لله سبحانه وتعالى، كما يليق به.
And We bore Noah on the vessel built of planks and nails,
تَجْرِى بِأَعْيُنِنَا جَزَآءًۭ لِّمَن كَانَ كُفِرَ
voguant sous Nos yeux: récompense pour celui qu'on avait renié [Noé].
Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been denied.
وحملنا نوحًا ومَن معه على سفينة ذات ألواح ومسامير شُدَّت بها، تجري بمرأى منا وحفظ، وأغرقنا المكذبين؛ جزاء لهم على كفرهم وانتصارًا لنوح عليه السلام. وفي هذا دليل على إثبات صفة العينين لله سبحانه وتعالى، كما يليق به.
which sailed on under Our supervision: a reward for him who had been shown ingratitude.
وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَٰهَآ ءَايَةًۭ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ
Et Nous la laissâmes, comme un signe [d'avertissement]. Y a-t-il quelqu'un pour réfléchir?
And We left it as a sign, so is there any who will remember?
ولقد أبقينا قصة نوح مع قومه عبرة ودليلا على قدرتنا لمن بعد نوح؛ ليعتبروا ويتعظوا بما حلَّ بهذه الأمة التي كفرت بربها، فهل من متعظ يتعظ؟ فكيف كان عذابي ونذري لمن كفر بي وكذب رسلي، ولم يتعظ بما جاءت به؟ إنه كان عظيمًا مؤلمًا.
And We left the Ark as a Sign. Is there, then, any who will take heed?
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ
Comment furent Mon châtiment et Mes avertissements?
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
ولقد أبقينا قصة نوح مع قومه عبرة ودليلا على قدرتنا لمن بعد نوح؛ ليعتبروا ويتعظوا بما حلَّ بهذه الأمة التي كفرت بربها، فهل من متعظ يتعظ؟ فكيف كان عذابي ونذري لمن كفر بي وكذب رسلي، ولم يتعظ بما جاءت به؟ إنه كان عظيمًا مؤلمًا.
So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings!
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ
En effet, Nous avons rendu le Coran facile pour la méditation. Y a-t-il quelqu'un pour réfléchir?
And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?
ولقد سَهَّلْنا لفظ القرآن للتلاوة والحفظ، ومعانيه للفهم والتدبر، لمن أراد أن يتذكر ويعتبر، فهل من متعظ به؟
We have made this Qur'an easy as a reminder. Is there, then, any who will take heed?
كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌۭ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ
Les 'Aad ont traité de menteur (leur Messager). Comment furent Mon châtiment et Mes avertissements?
'Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
كذبت عاد هودًا فعاقبناهم، فكيف كان عذابي لهم على كفرهم، ونذري على تكذيب رسولهم، وعدم الإيمان به؟ إنه كان عظيمًا مؤلمًا.
'Ad also gave the lie (to Hud). So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings!
إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًۭا صَرْصَرًۭا فِى يَوْمِ نَحْسٍۢ مُّسْتَمِرٍّۢ
Nous avons envoyé contre eux un vent violent et glacial, en un jour néfaste et interminable;
Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune,
إنَّا أرسلنا عليهم ريحًا شديدة البرد، في يوم شؤم مستمر عليهم بالعذاب والهلاك، تقتلع الناس من مواضعهم على الأرض فترمي بهم على رؤوسهم، فتدق أعناقهم، ويفصل رؤوسهم عن أجسادهم، فتتركهم كالنخل المنقلع من أصله.
We sent a tumultuous wind against them on a day of unremitting misfortune,
تَنزِعُ ٱلنَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍۢ مُّنقَعِرٍۢ
il arrachait les gens comme des souches de palmiers déracinés.
Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted.
إنَّا أرسلنا عليهم ريحًا شديدة البرد، في يوم شؤم مستمر عليهم بالعذاب والهلاك، تقتلع الناس من مواضعهم على الأرض فترمي بهم على رؤوسهم، فتدق أعناقهم، ويفصل رؤوسهم عن أجسادهم، فتتركهم كالنخل المنقلع من أصله.
which tore people away and hurled them as though they were trunks of uprooted palm-trees.
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ
Comment furent Mon châtiment et Mes avertissements?
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
فكيف كان عذابي ونذري لمن كفر بي، وكذَّب رسلي ولم يؤمن بهم؟ إنه كان عظيمًا مؤلمًا.
So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings!
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ
En effet, Nous avons rendu le Coran facile pour la méditation. Y a-t-il quelqu'un pour réfléchir?
And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?
ولقد سَهَّلنا لفظ القرآن للتلاوة والحفظ، ومعانيه للفهم وللتدبر، لمن أراد أن يتذكر ويعتبر، فهل من متعظ به؟ وفي هذا حثٌّ على الاستكثار من تلاوة القرآن وتعلمه وتعليمه.
We have made the Qur'an easy to derive lessons from. Is there, then, any who will take heed?
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِٱلنُّذُرِ
Les Thamûd ont traité de mensonges les avertissements.
Thamud denied the warning
كذبت ثمود -وهم قوم صالح- بالآيات التي أُنذرِوا بها، فقالوا: أبشرًا منا واحدًا نتبعه نحن الجماعة الكثيرة وهو واحد؟ إنا إذا لفي بُعْدٍ عن الصواب وجنون.
Thamud gave the lie to the warnings,
فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَبَشَرًۭا مِّنَّا وَٰحِدًۭا نَّتَّبِعُهُۥٓ إِنَّآ إِذًۭا لَّفِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ وَسُعُرٍ
Ils dirent: «Allons-nous suivre un seul homme (Sâlih) d'entre nous-mêmes? Nous serions alors dans l'égarement et la folie.
And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness.
كذبت ثمود -وهم قوم صالح- بالآيات التي أُنذرِوا بها، فقالوا: أبشرًا منا واحدًا نتبعه نحن الجماعة الكثيرة وهو واحد؟ إنا إذا لفي بُعْدٍ عن الصواب وجنون.
saying: “Are we to follow a single mortal, one from among ourselves? If we do that, we shall surely be in error and folly.
أَءُلْقِىَ ٱلذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِنۢ بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌۭ
Est-ce que le message a été envoyé à Lui à l'exception de nous tous? C'est plutôt un grand menteur, plein de prétention et d'orgueil».
Has the message been sent down upon him from among us? Rather, he is an insolent liar."
أأُنزل عليه الوحي وخُصَّ بالنبوة مِن بيننا، وهو واحد منا؟ بل هو كثير الكذب والتجبر. سَيَرون عند نزول العذاب بهم في الدنيا ويوم القيامة مَنِ الكذاب المتجبر؟
Was there none but he to whom the Reminder could be vouchsafed excluding all others? Nay; he is an insolent liar.”
سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَدًۭا مَّنِ ٱلْكَذَّابُ ٱلْأَشِرُ
Demain, ils sauront qui est le grand menteur plein de prétention et d'orgueil.
They will know tomorrow who is the insolent liar.
أأُنزل عليه الوحي وخُصَّ بالنبوة مِن بيننا، وهو واحد منا؟ بل هو كثير الكذب والتجبر. سَيَرون عند نزول العذاب بهم في الدنيا ويوم القيامة مَنِ الكذاب المتجبر؟
(We told Our Messenger): “Tomorrow they shall know who is the insolent liar.
إِنَّا مُرْسِلُوا۟ ٱلنَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةًۭ لَّهُمْ فَٱرْتَقِبْهُمْ وَٱصْطَبِرْ
Nous leur enverrons la chamelle, comme épreuve. Surveille-les donc et sois patient.
Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient.
إنا مخرجو الناقة التي سألوها من الصخرة؛ اختبارًا لهم، فانتظر- يا صالح- ما يحلُّ بهم من العذاب، واصطبر على دعوتك إياهم وأذاهم لك.
We shall send the she-camel as a trial for them; so watch their end with patience.
وَنَبِّئْهُمْ أَنَّ ٱلْمَآءَ قِسْمَةٌۢ بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ كُلُّ شِرْبٍۢ مُّحْتَضَرٌۭ
Et informe-les que l'eau sera en partage entre eux [et la chamelle]; chacun boira à son tour.
And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn].
وأخبرهم أن الماء مقسوم بين قومك والناقة: للناقة يوم، ولهم يوم، كل شِرْب يحضره مَن كانت قسمته، ويُحظر على من ليس بقسمة له.
Let them know that the water should be divided between them and the she-camel, each availing their turn.”
فَنَادَوْا۟ صَاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ
Puis ils appelèrent leur camarade qui prit [son épée] et [la] tua.
But they called their companion, and he dared and hamstrung [her].
فنادوا صاحبهم بالحض على عقرها، فتناول الناقة بيده، فنحرها فعاقَبْتُهم، فكيف كان عقابي لهم على كفرهم، وإنذاري لمن عصى رسلي؟
Eventually, they summoned their companion, and he undertook the (outrageous) task and hamstrung the she-camel.
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ
Comment furent donc Mon châtiment et Mes avertissements?
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
فنادوا صاحبهم بالحض على عقرها، فتناول الناقة بيده، فنحرها فعاقَبْتُهم، فكيف كان عقابي لهم على كفرهم، وإنذاري لمن عصى رسلي؟
So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings!
إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ فَكَانُوا۟ كَهَشِيمِ ٱلْمُحْتَظِرِ
Nous lachâmes sur eux un seul Cri, et voilà qu'ils furent réduits à l'état de paille d'étable.
Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen.
إنا أرسلنا عليهم جبريل، فصاح بهم صيحة واحدة، فبادوا عن آخرهم، فكانوا كالزرع اليابس الذي يُجْعل حِظارًا على الإبل والمواشي.
Behold, We sent a single Blast against them, and they became like the trampled twigs of a sheep pen-builder.
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ
Et vraiment, Nous avons rendu le Coran facile pour la méditation. Y a-t-il quelqu'un pour réfléchir?
And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?
ولقد سَهَّلْنا لفظ القرآن للتلاوة والحفظ، ومعانيه للفهم والتدبر لمن أراد أن يتذكر ويعتبر، فهل مِن متعظ به؟
Surely We have made this Qur'an easy as a reminder. Is there, then, any who will take heed?
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍۭ بِٱلنُّذُرِ
Le peuple de Lot traita de mensonges les avertissements.
The people of Lot denied the warning.
كذَّبت قوم لوط بآيات الله التي أنذِروا بها.
Lot's people also gave the lie to the warnings,
إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍۢ ۖ نَّجَّيْنَٰهُم بِسَحَرٍۢ
Nous lachâmes sur eux un ouragan, excepté la famille de Lot que Nous sauvâmes avant l'aube,
Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn
إنا أرسلنا عليهم حجارةً إلا آل لوط، نجَّيناهم من العذاب في آخر الليل، نعمة من عندنا عليهم، كما أثبنا لوطًا وآله وأنعمنا عليهم، فأنجيناهم مِن عذابنا، نُثيب مَن آمن بنا وشكرنا.
and behold, We let loose upon them a tempest which rained stones upon them, except upon Lot's household whom We rescued in the last hours of the night
نِّعْمَةًۭ مِّنْ عِندِنَا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى مَن شَكَرَ
à titre de bienfait de Notre part: ainsi récompensons-Nous celui qui est reconnaissant.
As favor from us. Thus do We reward he who is grateful.
إنا أرسلنا عليهم حجارةً إلا آل لوط، نجَّيناهم من العذاب في آخر الليل، نعمة من عندنا عليهم، كما أثبنا لوطًا وآله وأنعمنا عليهم، فأنجيناهم مِن عذابنا، نُثيب مَن آمن بنا وشكرنا.
as a favour from Us. Thus do We reward those who give thanks.
وَلَقَدْ أَنذَرَهُم بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا۟ بِٱلنُّذُرِ
Il les avait pourtant avertis de Nos représailles. Mais ils mirent les avertissements en doute.
And he had already warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warning.
ولقد خوَّف لوط قومه بأس الله وعذابه، فلم يسمعوا له، بل شكُّوا في ذلك، وكذَّبوه.
Surely Lot warned his people that We shall seize them (with Our chastisement), but they doubted the warnings.
وَلَقَدْ رَٰوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيْفِهِۦ فَطَمَسْنَآ أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ
En effet, ils voulaient séduire ses hôtes. Nous aveuglâmes leurs yeux «Goûtez donc Mon châtiment et Mes avertissements».
And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warning."
ولقد طلبوا منه أن يفعلوا الفاحشة بضيوفه من الملائكة، فطمسنا أعينهم فلم يُبصروا شيئًا، فقيل لهم: ذوقوا عذابي وإنذاري الذي أنذركم به لوط عليه السلام.
Then they even solicited his guests from him, whereupon We blotted out their eyes, (telling them): “Now have a taste of My chastisement and My warnings.”
وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُم بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌۭ مُّسْتَقِرٌّۭ
En effet, au petit matin, un châtiment persistant les surprit.
And there came upon them by morning an abiding punishment.
ولقد جاءهم وقت الصباح عذاب دائم استقر فيهم حتى يُفضي بهم إلى عذاب الآخرة، وذلك العذاب هو رجمهم بالحجارة وقلب قُراهم وجعل أعلاها أسفلها، فقيل لهم: ذوقوا عذابي الذي أنزلته بكم؛ لكفركم وتكذيبكم، وإنذاري الذي أنذركم به لوط عليه السلام.
Indeed an abiding chastisement came upon them in the morning.
فَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ
Goûtez donc Mon châtiment et Mes avertissements.
So taste My punishment and warning.
ولقد جاءهم وقت الصباح عذاب دائم استقر فيهم حتى يُفضي بهم إلى عذاب الآخرة، وذلك العذاب هو رجمهم بالحجارة وقلب قُراهم وجعل أعلاها أسفلها، فقيل لهم: ذوقوا عذابي الذي أنزلته بكم؛ لكفركم وتكذيبكم، وإنذاري الذي أنذركم به لوط عليه السلام.
So have a taste of My chastisement and My warnings.
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ
Et vraiment, Nous avons rendu le Coran facile pour la méditation. Y a-t-il quelqu'un pour réfléchir?
And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?
ولقد سَهَّلْنا لفظ القرآن للتلاوة والحفظ، ومعانيه للفهم والتدبر لمن أراد أن يتذكر، فهل مِن متعظ به؟
Surely We have made this Qur'an easy as a reminder. Is there, then, any who will take heed?
وَلَقَدْ جَآءَ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ ٱلنُّذُرُ
Les avertissements vinrent certes, aux gens de Pharaon.
And there certainly came to the people of Pharaoh warning.
ولقد جاء أتباعَ فرعون وقومَه إنذارُنا بالعقوبة لهم على كفرهم.
Warnings also came to the Pharaonites,
كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذْنَٰهُمْ أَخْذَ عَزِيزٍۢ مُّقْتَدِرٍ
Ils traitèrent de mensonges tous Nos prodiges. Nous les saisîmes donc, de la saisie d'un Puissant Omnipotent.
They denied Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with a seizure of one Exalted in Might and Perfect in Ability.
كذَّبوا بأدلتنا كلها الدالة على وحدانيتنا ونبوة أنبيائنا، فعاقبناهم بالعذاب عقوبة عزيز لا يغالَب، مقتدر على ما يشاء.
but they gave the lie to Our Signs, to all of them. Thereupon We seized them with the seizing of the Most Mighty, the Most Powerful.
أَكُفَّارُكُمْ خَيْرٌۭ مِّنْ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكُمْ أَمْ لَكُم بَرَآءَةٌۭ فِى ٱلزُّبُرِ
Vos mécréants sont-ils meilleurs que ceux-là? Ou bien y a-t-il dans les Ecritures une immunité pour vous?
Are your disbelievers better than those [former ones], or have you immunity in the scripture?
أكفاركم- يا معشر قريش- خير مِنَ الذين تقدَّم ذكرهم ممن هلكوا بسبب تكذيبهم، أم لكم براءة مِن عقاب الله في الكتب المنزلة على الأنبياء بالسلامة من العقوبة؟
Are your unbelievers (of Makkah) any better than they? Or have you been granted any immunity in the Scriptures?
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِيعٌۭ مُّنتَصِرٌۭ
Ou bien ils disent: «Nous formons un groupe [fort] et nous vaincrons».
Or do they say, "We are an assembly supporting [each other]"?
بل أيقول كفار "مكة": نحن أولو حزم ورأي وأمرنا مجتمع، فنحن جماعة منتصرة لا يغلبنا من أرادنا بسوء؟
Or do they say: “We are a strong legion, strong enough for victory?”
سَيُهْزَمُ ٱلْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ ٱلدُّبُرَ
Leur rassemblement sera bientôt mis en déroute, et ils fuiront.
[Their] assembly will be defeated, and they will turn their backs [in retreat].
سيهزم جمع كفار "مكة" أمام المؤمنين، ويولُّون الأدبار، وقد حدث هذا يوم "بدر".
Soon shall this legion be routed and shall turn their backs and flee.
بَلِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدْهَىٰ وَأَمَرُّ
L'Heure, plutôt, sera leur rendez-vous, et l'Heure sera plus terrible et plus amère.
But the Hour is their appointment [for due punishment], and the Hour is more disastrous and more bitter.
والساعة موعدهم الذي يُجازون فيه بما يستحقون، والساعة أعظم وأقسى مما لحقهم من العذاب يوم "بدر".
Nay; the Hour of Doom is their appointed time, and the Hour shall be more calamitous and bitter.
إِنَّ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ وَسُعُرٍۢ
Les criminels sont certes, dans l'égarement et la folie.
Indeed, the criminals are in error and madness.
إن المجرمين في تيه عن الحق وعناء وعذاب. يوم يُجرُّون في النار على وجوههم، ويقال لهم: ذوقوا شدة عذاب جهنم.
The evil-doers are victims of error and madness.
يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِى ٱلنَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا۟ مَسَّ سَقَرَ
Le jour où on les traînera dans le Feu sur leurs visages, (on leur dira): «Goûtez au contact de Saqar [la chaleur brûlante de l'Enfer]».
The Day they are dragged into the Fire on their faces [it will be said], "Taste the touch of Saqar."
إن المجرمين في تيه عن الحق وعناء وعذاب. يوم يُجرُّون في النار على وجوههم، ويقال لهم: ذوقوا شدة عذاب جهنم.
There shall come a Day when they will be dragged on their faces into the Fire and will be told: “Now taste the flame of Hell.”
إِنَّا كُلَّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْنَٰهُ بِقَدَرٍۢ
Nous avons créé toute chose avec mesure,
Indeed, all things We created with predestination.
إنَّا كل شيء خلقناه بمقدار قدرناه وقضيناه، وسبق علمنا به، وكتابتنا له في اللوح المحفوظ.
We have created everything in a determined measure.
وَمَآ أَمْرُنَآ إِلَّا وَٰحِدَةٌۭ كَلَمْحٍۭ بِٱلْبَصَرِ
et Notre ordre est une seule [parole]; [il est prompt] comme un clin d'œil.
And Our command is but one, like a glance of the eye.
وما أمرنا للشيء إذا أردناه إلا أن نقول قولة واحدة وهي "كن"، فيكون كلمح البصر، لا يتأخر طرفة عين.
Our command consists of only one Word which is carried out in the twinkling of an eye.
وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَآ أَشْيَاعَكُمْ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ
En effet, nous avons fait périr des peuples semblables à vous. Y a-t-il quelqu'un pour s'en souvenir?
And We have already destroyed your kinds, so is there any who will remember?
ولقد أهلكنا أشباهكم في الكفر من الأمم الخالية، فهل من متعظ بما حلَّ بهم من النَّكال والعذاب؟
We did indeed destroy many like you. Is there, then, any who will heed?
وَكُلُّ شَىْءٍۢ فَعَلُوهُ فِى ٱلزُّبُرِ
Et tout ce qu'ils ont fait est mentionné dans les registres,
And everything they did is in written records.
وكل شيء فعله أشباهكم الماضون من خير أو شرٍّ مكتوب في الكتب التي كتبتها الحفظة.
All their deeds are recorded in the Scrolls;
وَكُلُّ صَغِيرٍۢ وَكَبِيرٍۢ مُّسْتَطَرٌ
et tout fait, petit et grand, est consigné.
And every small and great [thing] is inscribed.
وكل صغير وكبير من أعمالهم مُسَطَّر في صحائفهم، وسيجازون به.
everything large or small, is duly inscribed.
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَنَهَرٍۢ
Les pieux seront dans des Jardins et parmi des ruisseaux,
Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and rivers,
إن المتقين في بساتين عظيمة، وأنهار واسعة يوم القيامة.
Surely those who shun disobedience will dwell amidst Gardens and running streams
فِى مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٍۢ مُّقْتَدِرٍۭ
dans un séjour de vérité, auprès d'un Souverain Omnipotent.
In a seat of honor near a Sovereign, Perfect in Ability.
في مجلس حق، لا لغو فيه ولا تأثيم عند الله المَلِك العظيم، الخالق للأشياء كلها، المقتدر على كل شيء تبارك وتعالى.
where they will be honourably seated in the presence of a King, Mighty in Power.
