بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ أَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يُكَذِّبُ بِٱلدِّينِ
Vois-tu celui qui traite de mensonge la Rétribution?
Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?
أرأيت حال ذلك الذي يكذِّب بالبعث والجزاء؟
Did you see him who gives the lie to the Reward and Punishment of the Hereafter?
فَذَٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِى يَدُعُّ ٱلْيَتِيمَ
C'est bien lui qui repousse l'orphelin,
For that is the one who drives away the orphan
فذلك الذي يدفع اليتيم بعنف وشدة عن حقه؛ لقساوة قلبه.
Such is the one who repulses the orphans away,
وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ
et qui n'encourage point à nourrir le pauvre.
And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.
ولا يحضُّ غيره على إطعام المسكين، فكيف له أن يطعمه بنفسه؟
and urges not the feeding of the needy.
فَوَيْلٌۭ لِّلْمُصَلِّينَ
Malheur donc, à ceux qui prient
So woe to those who pray
فعذاب شديد للمصلين الذين هم عن صلاتهم لاهون، لا يقيمونها على وجهها، ولا يؤدونها في وقتها.
Woe, then, to those who pray,
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَن صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ
tout en négligeant (et retardant) leur Salât,
[But] who are heedless of their prayer -
فعذاب شديد للمصلين الذين هم عن صلاتهم لاهون، لا يقيمونها على وجهها، ولا يؤدونها في وقتها.
but are heedless in their Prayers,
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَآءُونَ
qui sont pleins d'ostentation,
Those who make show [of their deeds]
الذين هم يتظاهرون بأعمال الخير مراءاة للناس.
those who do good (in order) to be seen,
وَيَمْنَعُونَ ٱلْمَاعُونَ
et refusent l'ustensile (à celui qui en a besoin).
And withhold [simple] assistance.
ويمنعون إعارة ما لا تضر إعارته من الآنية وغيرها، فلا هم أحسنوا عبادة ربهم، ولا هم أحسنوا إلى خلقه.
and deny people the articles of common necessity.
