بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ الٓر ۚ تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَقُرْءَانٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
Alif, Lâm, Râ. Voici les versets du Livre et d'une Lecture explicite.
Alif, Lam, Ra. These are the verses of the Book and a clear Qur'an.
(الر) سبق الكلام على الحروف المقطَّعة في أول سورة البقرة.
Alif. Lam. Ra'. These are the verses of the Book, and a Clear Qur'an.
رُّبَمَا يَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ مُسْلِمِينَ
[Le Jour du Jugement Dernier] les mécréants voudraient avoir été Musulmans [soumis].
Perhaps those who disbelieve will wish that they had been Muslims.
سيتمنى الكفار حين يرون خروج عصاة المؤمنين من النار أن لو كانوا موحدين؛ ليخرجوا كما خرجوا.
Soon will the time come when the unbelievers will wish they were Muslims.
ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُوا۟ وَيَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ وَيُلْهِهِمُ ٱلْأَمَلُ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
Laisse-les manger, jouir (un temps), et être distraits par l'espoir; car bientôt ils sauront!
Let them eat and enjoy themselves and be diverted by [false] hope, for they are going to know.
اترك -أيها الرسول- الكفار يأكلوا، ويستمتعوا بدنياهم، ويشغلهم الطمع فيها عن طاعة الله، فسوف يعلمون عاقبة أمرهم الخاسرة في الدنيا والآخرة.
Leave them to eat and enjoy life and let false hopes amuse them. They will soon come to know.
وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابٌۭ مَّعْلُومٌۭ
Or Nous ne détruisons aucune cité sans qu'elle n'ait eu [un terme fixé en] une Ecriture connue.
And We did not destroy any city but that for it was a known decree.
وإذا طلبوا نزول العذاب بهم تكذيبًا لك -أيها الرسول- فإنا لا نُهْلك قرية إلا ولإهلاكها أجل مقدَّر، لا نُهْلكهم حتى يبلغوه، مثل مَن سبقهم.
Whenever We destroyed a town, a definite term had previously been decreed for it.
مَّا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ
Nulle communauté ne devance son terme, ni ne le retarde.
No nation will precede its term, nor will they remain thereafter.
لا تتجاوز أمة أجلها فتزيد عليه، ولا تتقدم عليه، فتنقص منه.
No people can outstrip the term for its destruction nor can it delay it.
وَقَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِى نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلذِّكْرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجْنُونٌۭ
Et ils (les mecquois) disent: «O toi sur qui on a fait descendre le Coran, tu es certainement fou!
And they say, "O you upon whom the message has been sent down, indeed you are mad.
وقال المكذبون لمحمد صلى الله عليه وسلم استهزاءً: يا أيها الذي نُزِّل عليه القرآن إنك لذاهب العقل، هلا تأتينا بالملائكة -إن كنت صادقًا-؛ لتشهد أن الله أرسلك.
They say: "O you to whom the Admonition has been revealed, you are surely crazed.
لَّوْ مَا تَأْتِينَا بِٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
Pourquoi ne nous es-tu pas venu avec les Anges, si tu es du nombre des véridiques?»
Why do you not bring us the angels, if you should be among the truthful?"
وقال المكذبون لمحمد صلى الله عليه وسلم استهزاءً: يا أيها الذي نُزِّل عليه القرآن إنك لذاهب العقل، هلا تأتينا بالملائكة -إن كنت صادقًا-؛ لتشهد أن الله أرسلك.
Why do you not bring down angels upon us if you are indeed truthful?"
مَا نُنَزِّلُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوٓا۟ إِذًۭا مُّنظَرِينَ
Nous ne faisons descendre les Anges qu'avec la vérité; et alors, il ne leur sera pas accordé de répit [à ces impies].
We do not send down the angels except with truth; and the disbelievers would not then be reprieved.
وردَّ الله عليهم: إننا لا ننزل الملائكة إلا بالعذاب الذي لا إمهال فيه لمن لم يؤمن، وما كانوا حين تنزل الملائكة بالعذاب بِمُمْهلين.
We do not send down the angels (in frivolity); and when We do send them down, We do so with Truth; then people are granted no respite.
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا ٱلذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ
En vérité c'est Nous qui avons fait descendre le Coran, et c'est Nous qui en sommes gardien.
Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian.
إنَّا نحن نزَّلنا القرآن على النبي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، وإنَّا نتعهد بحفظه مِن أن يُزاد فيه أو يُنْقَص منه، أو يضيع منه شيء.
As for the Admonition, indeed it is We Who have revealed it and it is indeed We Who are its guardians.
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِى شِيَعِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Et nous avons certes envoyé, avant toi, [des Messagers] parmi les peuples des Anciens.
And We had certainly sent [messengers] before you, [O Muhammad], among the sects of the former peoples.
ولقد أرسلنا من قبلك -أيها الرسول- رسلا في فِرَق الأولين، فما من رسولٍ جاءهم إلا كانوا منه يسخرون. وفي هذا تسلية للرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم. فكما فَعَل بك هؤلاء المشركون فكذلك فُعِلَ بمن قبلك من الرسل.
(O Muhammad), certainly We did send Messengers before you among the nations which have gone by.
وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
Et pas un Messager ne leur est venu sans qu'ils s'en soient moqués.
And no messenger would come to them except that they ridiculed him.
ولقد أرسلنا من قبلك -أيها الرسول- رسلا في فِرَق الأولين، فما من رسولٍ جاءهم إلا كانوا منه يسخرون. وفي هذا تسلية للرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم. فكما فَعَل بك هؤلاء المشركون فكذلك فُعِلَ بمن قبلك من الرسل.
And whenever a Messenger came to them, they never failed to mock him.
كَذَٰلِكَ نَسْلُكُهُۥ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
C'est ainsi que Nous faisons pénétrer (la mécréance) dans les cœurs des coupables.
Thus do We insert denial into the hearts of the criminals.
كما أدخلنا الكفر في قلوب الأمم السابقة بالاستهزاء بالرسل وتكذيبهم، كذلك نفعل ذلك في قلوب مشركي قومك الذين أجرموا بالكفر بالله وتكذيب رسوله، لا يُصَدِّقون بالذكر الذي أُنزل إليك، وقد مضت سنَّة الأولين بإهلاك الكفار، وهؤلاء مِثْلهم، سَيُهْلك المستمرون منهم على الكفر والتكذيب.
Even so We make a way for it (that is, the Admonition) in the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod);
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ ۖ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Ils ne croiront pas en lui [le Messager ou le Coran] bien que se soit accompli le sort traditionnel des anciens.
They will not believe in it, while there has already occurred the precedent of the former peoples.
كما أدخلنا الكفر في قلوب الأمم السابقة بالاستهزاء بالرسل وتكذيبهم، كذلك نفعل ذلك في قلوب مشركي قومك الذين أجرموا بالكفر بالله وتكذيب رسوله، لا يُصَدِّقون بالذكر الذي أُنزل إليك، وقد مضت سنَّة الأولين بإهلاك الكفار، وهؤلاء مِثْلهم، سَيُهْلك المستمرون منهم على الكفر والتكذيب.
they do not believe in it. This has been the wont of people of this kind from ancient times.
وَلَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًۭا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَظَلُّوا۟ فِيهِ يَعْرُجُونَ
Et même si Nous ouvrions pour eux une porte du ciel, et qu'ils pussent y monter,
And [even] if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they continued therein to ascend,
ولو فتحنا على كفار "مكة" بابًا من السماء فاستمروا صاعدين فيه حتى يشاهدوا ما في السماء من عجائب ملكوت الله، لما صدَّقوا، ولقالوا: سُحِرَتْ أبصارنا، حتى رأينا ما لم نرَ، وما نحن إلا مسحورون في عقولنا من محمد.
If We were even to open for them a way to the heavens, and they could continually climb up to it in broad daylight,
لَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ أَبْصَٰرُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمٌۭ مَّسْحُورُونَ
ils diraient: «Vraiment nos yeux sont voilés. Mais plutôt, nous sommes des gens ensorcelés».
They would say, "Our eyes have only been dazzled. Rather, we are a people affected by magic."
ولو فتحنا على كفار "مكة" بابًا من السماء فاستمروا صاعدين فيه حتى يشاهدوا ما في السماء من عجائب ملكوت الله، لما صدَّقوا، ولقالوا: سُحِرَتْ أبصارنا، حتى رأينا ما لم نرَ، وما نحن إلا مسحورون في عقولنا من محمد.
they would still have said: "Surely our eyes have been dazzled; rather, we have been enchanted."
وَلَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجًۭا وَزَيَّنَّٰهَا لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ
Certes Nous avons placé dans le ciel des constellations et Nous l'avons embelli pour ceux qui regardent.
And We have placed within the heaven great stars and have beautified it for the observers.
ومن أدلة قدرتنا: أنا جعلنا في السماء الدنيا منازل للكواكب تنزل فيها، ويستدل بذلك على الطرقات والأوقات والخِصْب والجَدْب، وزَيَّنَّا هذه السماء بالنجوم لمن ينظرون إليها، ويتأملون فيعتبرون.
We have indeed set constellations in the heavens and have beautified them for the beholders,
وَحَفِظْنَٰهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْطَٰنٍۢ رَّجِيمٍ
Et Nous l'avons protégé contre tout diable banni.
And We have protected it from every devil expelled [from the mercy of Allah]
وحفظنا السماء من كل شيطان مرجوم مطرود من رحمة الله؛ كي لا يصل إليها.
and have protected them against every accursed satan
إِلَّا مَنِ ٱسْتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ
A moins que l'un d'eux parvienne subrepticement à écouter, une flamme brillante alors le poursuit.
Except one who steals a hearing and is pursued by a clear burning flame.
إلا من اختلس السمع مِن كلام أهل الملأ الأعلى في بعض الأوقات، فأدركه ولحقه كوكب مضيء يحرقه. وقد يُلْقي الشيطان إلى وليه بعض ما استرقَه قبل أن يحرقه الشهاب.
save him who may eavesdrop, and then a bright flame pursues him.
وَٱلْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَٰهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ مَّوْزُونٍۢ
Et quant à la terre, Nous l'avons étalée et y avons placé des montagnes (immobiles) et y avons fait pousser toute chose harmonieusement proportionnée.
And the earth - We have spread it and cast therein firmly set mountains and caused to grow therein [something] of every well-balanced thing.
والأرض مددناها متسعة، وألقينا فيها جبالا تثبتها، وأنبتنا فيها من كل أنواع النبات ما هو مقدَّر معلوم مما يحتاج إليه العباد.
As for the earth, We have stretched it out and have cast on it firm mountains, and have caused to grow in it everything well-measured.
وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَٰيِشَ وَمَن لَّسْتُمْ لَهُۥ بِرَٰزِقِينَ
Et Nous y avons placé des vivres pour vous, et (placé aussi pour vous) des êtres que vous ne nourrissez pas.
And We have made for you therein means of living and [for] those for whom you are not providers.
وجعلنا لكم فيها ما به تعيشون من الحَرْث، ومن الماشية، ومن أنواع المكاسب وغيرها، وخلقنا لكم من الذرية والخدم والدوابِّ ما تنتفعون به، وليس رزقهم عليكم، وإنما هو على الله رب العالمين تفضلا منه وتكرمًا.
And We have provided sustenance for you on it and also for those of whom you are not the providers.
وَإِن مِّن شَىْءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا خَزَآئِنُهُۥ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِقَدَرٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ
Et il n'est rien dont Nous n'ayons les réserves et Nous ne le faisons descendre que dans une mesure déterminée.
And there is not a thing but that with Us are its depositories, and We do not send it down except according to a known measure.
وما من شيء من منافع العباد إلا عندنا خزائنه من جميع الصنوف، وما ننزله إلا بمقدار محدد كما نشاء وكما نريد، فالخزائن بيد الله يعطي من يشاء ويمنع من يشاء، بحسب رحمته الواسعة، وحكمته البالغة.
There is nothing except that its treasuries are with Us and We do not send it down except in a known measure.
وَأَرْسَلْنَا ٱلرِّيَٰحَ لَوَٰقِحَ فَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ فَأَسْقَيْنَٰكُمُوهُ وَمَآ أَنتُمْ لَهُۥ بِخَٰزِنِينَ
Et Nous envoyons les vents fécondants; et Nous faisons alors descendre du ciel une eau dont Nous vous abreuvons et que vous n'êtes pas en mesure de conserver.
And We have sent the fertilizing winds and sent down water from the sky and given you drink from it. And you are not its retainers.
وأرسلنا الرياح وسخرناها تُلَقِّح السحاب، وتحمل المطر والخير والنفع، فأنزلنا من السحاب ماء أعددناه لشرابكم وأرضكم ومواشيكم، وما أنتم بقادرين على خزنه وادِّخاره، ولكن نخزنه لكم رحمة بكم، وإحسانًا إليكم.
We send fertilizing winds, and then cause rain to descend from the sky, providing you abundant water to drink even though you could not have stored it up for yourselves.
وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْىِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحْنُ ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ
Et c'est bien Nous qui donnons la vie et donnons la mort, et c'est Nous qui sommes l'héritier [de tout].
And indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and We are the Inheritor.
وإنَّا لنحن نحيي مَن كان ميتًا بخلقه من العدم، ونميت من كان حيًا بعد انقضاء أجله، ونحن الوارثون الأرض ومَن عليها.
It is indeed We Who grant life and cause death and it is We who shall be the sole Inheritors of all.
وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا ٱلْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا ٱلْمُسْتَـْٔخِرِينَ
Et Nous connaissons certes ceux qui parmi vous ont avancé et Nous connaissons ceux qui tardent encore.
And We have already known the preceding [generations] among you, and We have already known the later [ones to come].
ولقد علمنا مَن هلك منكم مِن لدن آدم، ومَن هو حيٌّ، ومَن سيأتي إلى يوم القيامة.
Surely We know those of you who have passed before and those who will come later.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٌۭ
Certes, c'est ton Seigneur qui les rassemblera. Car c'est Lui le Sage, l'Omniscient.
And indeed, your Lord will gather them; indeed, He is Wise and Knowing.
وإن ربك هو يحشرهم للحساب والجزاء، إنه حكيم في تدبيره، عليم لا يخفى عليه شيء.
Indeed your Lord will gather them all together. Surely He is All-Wise, All-Knowing.
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلْصَٰلٍۢ مِّنْ حَمَإٍۢ مَّسْنُونٍۢ
Nous créâmes l'homme d'une argile crissante, extraite d'une boue malléable.
And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud.
ولقد خلقنا آدم مِن طين يابس إذا نُقِر عليه سُمع له صوت، وهذا الطين اليابس من طين أسود متغيِّر لونه وريحه؛ مِن طول مكثه.
Surely We brought man into being out of dry ringing clay which was wrought from black mud,
وَٱلْجَآنَّ خَلَقْنَٰهُ مِن قَبْلُ مِن نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِ
Et quant au djinn, Nous l'avions auparavant créé d'un feu d'une chaleur ardente.
And the jinn We created before from scorching fire.
وخلقنا أبا الجن، وهو إبليس مِن قَبْل خلق آدم من نار شديدة الحرارة لا دخان لها.
while We had brought the jinn into being before out of blazing fire.
وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّى خَٰلِقٌۢ بَشَرًۭا مِّن صَلْصَٰلٍۢ مِّنْ حَمَإٍۢ مَّسْنُونٍۢ
Et lorsque ton Seigneur dit aux Anges: «Je vais créer un homme d'argile crissante, extraite d'une boue malléable,
And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud.
واذكر -أيها النبي- حين قال ربك للملائكة: إني خالق إنسانًا من طين يابس، وهذا الطين اليابس من طين أسود متغيِّر اللون.
Recall when your Lord said to the angels: "I will indeed bring into being a human being out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud.
فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُۥ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِى فَقَعُوا۟ لَهُۥ سَٰجِدِينَ
et dès que Je l'aurai harmonieusement formé et lui aurai insufflé Mon souffle de vie, jetez-vous alors, prosternés devant lui».
And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration."
فإذا سوَّيته وأكملت صورته ونفخت فيه الروح، فخُرُّوا له ساجدين سجود تحية وتكريم، لا سجود عبادة.
When I have completed shaping him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall you down before him in prostration."
فَسَجَدَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ
Alors, les Anges se prosternèrent tous ensemble,
So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely,
فسجد الملائكة كلهم أجمعون كما أمرهم ربهم لم يمتنع منهم أحد، لكن إبليس امتنع أن يسجد لآدم مع الملائكة الساجدين.
So, the angels - all of them - fell down in prostration,
إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ
excepté Iblis qui refusa d'être avec les prosternés.
Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated.
فسجد الملائكة كلهم أجمعون كما أمرهم ربهم لم يمتنع منهم أحد، لكن إبليس امتنع أن يسجد لآدم مع الملائكة الساجدين.
except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated.
قَالَ يَٰٓإِبْلِيسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ
Alors [Allah] dit: «O Iblis, pourquoi n'es-tu pas au nombre des prosternés?»
[Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?"
قال الله لإبليس: ما لك ألا تسجد مع الملائكة؟
The Lord inquired: "Iblis! What is the matter with you that you did not join those who prostrated?"
قَالَ لَمْ أَكُن لِّأَسْجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقْتَهُۥ مِن صَلْصَٰلٍۢ مِّنْ حَمَإٍۢ مَّسْنُونٍۢ
Il dit: «Je ne puis me prosterner devant un homme que Tu as créé d'argile crissante, extraite d'une boue malléable».
He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud."
قال إبليس مظهرًا كبره وحسده: لا يليق بي أن أسجد لإنسان أَوجدْتَهُ من طين يابس كان طينًا أسود متغيرًا.
He said: "It does not behove of me to prostrate myself before a human being whom You have created out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud."
قَالَ فَٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٌۭ
- Et [Allah] dit: «Sors de là [du Paradis], car te voilà banni!
[Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled.
قال الله تعالى له: فاخرج من الجنة، فإنك مطرود من كل خير، وإن عليك اللعنة والبعد من رحمتي إلى يوم يُبْعَث الناس للحساب والجزاء.
The Lord said: "Then get out of here; you are rejected,
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ ٱللَّعْنَةَ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ
Et malédiction sur toi, jusqu'au Jour de la rétribution!»
And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense."
قال الله تعالى له: فاخرج من الجنة، فإنك مطرود من كل خير، وإن عليك اللعنة والبعد من رحمتي إلى يوم يُبْعَث الناس للحساب والجزاء.
and there shall be a curse upon you till the Day of Recompense."
قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
- Il dit: «O mon Seigneur, donne-moi donc un délai jusqu'au jour où ils (les gens) seront ressuscités».
He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected."
قال إبليس: رب أخِّرني في الدنيا إلى اليوم الذي تَبْعَث فيه عبادك، وهو يوم القيامة.
Iblis said: "My Lord! Grant me respite till the Day when they will be resurrected."
قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ
[Allah] dit: «tu es de ceux à qui ce délai est accordé,
[Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved
قال الله له: فإنك ممن أخَّرْتُ هلاكهم إلى اليوم الذي يموت فيه كل الخلق بعد النفخة الأولى، لا إلى يوم البعث، وإنما أُجيبَ إلى ذلك استدراجًا له وإمهالا وفتنة للثقلين.
Allah said: "For sure you are granted respite
إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْوَقْتِ ٱلْمَعْلُومِ
jusqu'au jour de l'instant connu» [d'Allah].
Until the Day of the time well-known."
قال الله له: فإنك ممن أخَّرْتُ هلاكهم إلى اليوم الذي يموت فيه كل الخلق بعد النفخة الأولى، لا إلى يوم البعث، وإنما أُجيبَ إلى ذلك استدراجًا له وإمهالا وفتنة للثقلين.
until the day of a known time."
قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِى لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
- Il dit: «O mon Seigneur, parce que Tu m'as induit en erreur, eh bien je leur enjoliverai la vie sur terre et les égarerai tous,
[Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all
قال إبليس: ربِّ بسبب ما أغويتني وأضللتني لأحسِّنَنَّ لذرية آدم معاصيك في الأرض، ولأضلنهم أجمعين عن طريق الهدى، إلا عبادك الذين هديتهم فأخلصوا لك العبادة وحدك دون سائر خلقك.
Iblis said: "My Lord! In the manner You led me to error, I will make things on earth seem attractive to them and lead all of them to error,
إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
à l'exception, parmi eux, de Tes serviteurs élus.»
Except, among them, Your chosen servants."
قال إبليس: ربِّ بسبب ما أغويتني وأضللتني لأحسِّنَنَّ لذرية آدم معاصيك في الأرض، ولأضلنهم أجمعين عن طريق الهدى، إلا عبادك الذين هديتهم فأخلصوا لك العبادة وحدك دون سائر خلقك.
except those of Your servants whom You have singled out for Yourself."
قَالَ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ عَلَىَّ مُسْتَقِيمٌ
- «[Allah] dit: voici une voie droite [qui mène] vers Moi.
[Allah] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight.
قال الله: هذا طريق مستقيم معتدل موصل إليَّ وإلى دار كرامتي. إن عبادي الذين أخلصوا لي لا أجعل لك سلطانًا على قلوبهم تضلُّهم به عن الصراط المستقيم، لكن سلطانك على مَنِ اتبعك مِنَ الضالين المشركين الذين رضوا بولايتك وطاعتك بدلا من طاعتي.
Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me.
إِنَّ عِبَادِى لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْغَاوِينَ
Sur Mes serviteurs tu n'auras aucune autorité, excepté sur celui qui te suivra parmi les dévoyés.
Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators.
قال الله: هذا طريق مستقيم معتدل موصل إليَّ وإلى دار كرامتي. إن عبادي الذين أخلصوا لي لا أجعل لك سلطانًا على قلوبهم تضلُّهم به عن الصراط المستقيم، لكن سلطانك على مَنِ اتبعك مِنَ الضالين المشركين الذين رضوا بولايتك وطاعتك بدلا من طاعتي.
Over My true servants you will be able to exercise no power, your power will be confined to the erring ones, those who choose to follow you.
وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوْعِدُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Et l'Enfer sera sûrement leur lieu de rendez-vous à tous.
And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all.
وإن النار الشديدة لَموعدُ إبليس وأتباعه أجمعين، لها سبعة أبواب كل باب أسفل من الآخر، لكل بابٍ مِن أتباع إبليس قسم ونصيب بحسب أعمالهم.
Surely Hell is the promised place for all of them."
لَهَا سَبْعَةُ أَبْوَٰبٍۢ لِّكُلِّ بَابٍۢ مِّنْهُمْ جُزْءٌۭ مَّقْسُومٌ
Il a sept portes; et chaque porte en a sa part déterminée».
It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated."
وإن النار الشديدة لَموعدُ إبليس وأتباعه أجمعين، لها سبعة أبواب كل باب أسفل من الآخر، لكل بابٍ مِن أتباع إبليس قسم ونصيب بحسب أعمالهم.
There are seven gates in it, and to each gate a portion of them has been allotted.
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍ
Certes, les pieux seront dans des jardins avec des sources.
Indeed, the righteous will be within gardens and springs.
إن الذين اتقوا الله بامتثال ما أمر واجتناب ما نهى في بساتين وأنهار جارية يقال لهم: ادخلوا هذه الجنات سالمين من كل سوء آمنين من كل عذاب. ونزعنا ما في قلوبهم من حقد وعداوة، يعيشون في الجنة إخوانًا متحابين، يجلسون على أسرَّة عظيمة، تتقابل وجوههم تواصلا وتحاببًا، لا يصيبهم فيها تعب ولا إعياء، وهم باقون فيها أبدًا.
As for the God-fearing, they shall be amid gardens and springs.
ٱدْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَٰمٍ ءَامِنِينَ
«Entrez-y en paix et en sécurité».
[Having been told], "Enter it in peace, safe [and secure]."
إن الذين اتقوا الله بامتثال ما أمر واجتناب ما نهى في بساتين وأنهار جارية يقال لهم: ادخلوا هذه الجنات سالمين من كل سوء آمنين من كل عذاب. ونزعنا ما في قلوبهم من حقد وعداوة، يعيشون في الجنة إخوانًا متحابين، يجلسون على أسرَّة عظيمة، تتقابل وجوههم تواصلا وتحاببًا، لا يصيبهم فيها تعب ولا إعياء، وهم باقون فيها أبدًا.
They will be told: "Enter it in peace and security."
وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِى صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ إِخْوَٰنًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍۢ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ
Et Nous aurons arraché toute rancune de leurs poitrines: et ils se sentiront frères, faisant face les uns aux autres sur des lits.
And We will remove whatever is in their breasts of resentment, [so they will be] brothers, on thrones facing each other.
إن الذين اتقوا الله بامتثال ما أمر واجتناب ما نهى في بساتين وأنهار جارية يقال لهم: ادخلوا هذه الجنات سالمين من كل سوء آمنين من كل عذاب. ونزعنا ما في قلوبهم من حقد وعداوة، يعيشون في الجنة إخوانًا متحابين، يجلسون على أسرَّة عظيمة، تتقابل وجوههم تواصلا وتحاببًا، لا يصيبهم فيها تعب ولا إعياء، وهم باقون فيها أبدًا.
And We shall purge their breasts of all traces of rancour; and they shall be seated on couches facing one another as brothers.
لَا يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيهَا نَصَبٌۭ وَمَا هُم مِّنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِينَ
Nulle fatigue ne les y touchera. Et on ne les en fera pas sortir.
No fatigue will touch them therein, nor from it will they [ever] be removed.
إن الذين اتقوا الله بامتثال ما أمر واجتناب ما نهى في بساتين وأنهار جارية يقال لهم: ادخلوا هذه الجنات سالمين من كل سوء آمنين من كل عذاب. ونزعنا ما في قلوبهم من حقد وعداوة، يعيشون في الجنة إخوانًا متحابين، يجلسون على أسرَّة عظيمة، تتقابل وجوههم تواصلا وتحاببًا، لا يصيبهم فيها تعب ولا إعياء، وهم باقون فيها أبدًا.
They shall face no fatigue in it, nor shall they ever be driven out of it.
۞ نَبِّئْ عِبَادِىٓ أَنِّىٓ أَنَا ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Informe Mes serviteurs que c'est Moi le Pardonneur, le Très Miséricordieux.
[O Muhammad], inform My servants that it is I who am the Forgiving, the Merciful.
أخبر -أيها الرسول- عبادي أني أنا الغفور للمؤمنين التائبين، الرحيم بهم، وأن عذابي هو العذاب المؤلم الموجع لغير التائبين. وأخبرهم -أيها الرسول- عن ضيوف إبراهيم من الملائكة الذين بشَّروه بالولد، وبهلاك قوم لوط.
(O Prophet), declare to My servants that I am indeed Ever Forgiving, Most Merciful.
وَأَنَّ عَذَابِى هُوَ ٱلْعَذَابُ ٱلْأَلِيمُ
et que Mon châtiment est certes le châtiment douloureux.
And that it is My punishment which is the painful punishment.
أخبر -أيها الرسول- عبادي أني أنا الغفور للمؤمنين التائبين، الرحيم بهم، وأن عذابي هو العذاب المؤلم الموجع لغير التائبين. وأخبرهم -أيها الرسول- عن ضيوف إبراهيم من الملائكة الذين بشَّروه بالولد، وبهلاك قوم لوط.
At the same time, My chastisement is highly painful.
وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَن ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
Et informe-les au sujet des hôtes d'Abraham
And inform them about the guests of Abraham,
أخبر -أيها الرسول- عبادي أني أنا الغفور للمؤمنين التائبين، الرحيم بهم، وأن عذابي هو العذاب المؤلم الموجع لغير التائبين. وأخبرهم -أيها الرسول- عن ضيوف إبراهيم من الملائكة الذين بشَّروه بالولد، وبهلاك قوم لوط.
And tell them about Abraham's guests.
إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَٰمًۭا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمْ وَجِلُونَ
Quand ils entrèrent chez lui et dirent: «Salâm» - Il dit: «Nous avons peur de vous».
When they entered upon him and said, "Peace." [Abraham] said, "Indeed, we are fearful of you."
حين دخلوا عليه فقالوا: سلامًا؛ فرد عليهم السلام، ثم قدَّم لهم الطعام فلم يأكلوا، قال: إنا منكم فزعون.
When they came to Abraham they said: "Peace be upon you!" He replied: "Indeed we feel afraid of you."
قَالُوا۟ لَا تَوْجَلْ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰمٍ عَلِيمٍۢ
Ils dirent: «N'aie pas peur! Nous t'annonçons une bonne nouvelle, [la naissance] d'un garçon plein de savoir».
[The angels] said, "Fear not. Indeed, we give you good tidings of a learned boy."
قالت الملائكة له: لا تفزع إنَّا جئنا نبشرك بولد كثير العلم بالدين، هو إسحاق.
They said: "Do not feel afraid, for we give you the good news of a wise boy."
قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِى عَلَىٰٓ أَن مَّسَّنِىَ ٱلْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ
Il dit: «M'annoncez-vous [cette nouvelle] alors que la vieillesse m'a touché? Que m'annoncez-vous donc?»
He said, "Have you given me good tidings although old age has come upon me? Then of what [wonder] do you inform?"
قال إبراهيم متعجبًا: أبشَّرتموني بالولد، وأنا كبير وزوجتي كذلك، فبأي أعجوبة تبشِّرونني؟
Abraham said: "What, do you give me this tiding though old age has smitten me? Just consider what tiding do you give me!"
قَالُوا۟ بَشَّرْنَٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْقَٰنِطِينَ
- Ils dirent: «Nous t'annonçons la vérité. Ne sois donc pas de ceux qui désespèrent».
They said, "We have given you good tidings in truth, so do not be of the despairing."
قالوا: بشَّرناك بالحق الذي أعلمَنا به الله، فلا تكن من اليائسين أن يولد لك.
They said: "The good tiding we give you is of truth. Do not, therefore, be of those who despair."
قَالَ وَمَن يَقْنَطُ مِن رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ
- Il dit: «Et qui désespère de la miséricorde de son Seigneur, sinon les égarés?»
He said, "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except for those astray?"
قال: لا ييئس من رحمة ربه إلا الخاطئون المنصرفون عن طريق الحق. قال: فما الأمر الخطير الذي جئتم من أجله -أيها المرسلون- من عند الله؟
Abraham said: "Who despairs of the Mercy of his Lord except the misguided?"
قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
Et il [leur] dit: «Que voulez-vous, ô envoyés d'Allah?»
[Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?"
قال: لا ييئس من رحمة ربه إلا الخاطئون المنصرفون عن طريق الحق. قال: فما الأمر الخطير الذي جئتم من أجله -أيها المرسلون- من عند الله؟
He added: "What is your errand O sent ones?"
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍۢ مُّجْرِمِينَ
- Ils dirent: «En vérité, nous sommes envoyés à des gens criminels,
They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals,
قالوا: إن الله أرسلنا لإهلاك قوم لوط المشركين الضالين إلا لوطًا وأهله المؤمنين به، فلن نهلكهم وسننجيهم أجمعين، لكن زوجته الكافرة قضينا بأمر الله بإهلاكها مع الباقين في العذاب.
They said: "Verily we have been sent to a guilty people
إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
à l'exception de la famille de Lot que nous sauverons tous
Except the family of Lot; indeed, we will save them all
قالوا: إن الله أرسلنا لإهلاك قوم لوط المشركين الضالين إلا لوطًا وأهله المؤمنين به، فلن نهلكهم وسننجيهم أجمعين، لكن زوجته الكافرة قضينا بأمر الله بإهلاكها مع الباقين في العذاب.
excepting the household of Lot. We shall deliver all of them,
إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ قَدَّرْنَآ ۙ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ
sauf sa femme.«Nous (Allah) avions déterminé qu'elle sera du nombre des exterminés.
Except his wife." Allah decreed that she is of those who remain behind.
قالوا: إن الله أرسلنا لإهلاك قوم لوط المشركين الضالين إلا لوطًا وأهله المؤمنين به، فلن نهلكهم وسننجيهم أجمعين، لكن زوجته الكافرة قضينا بأمر الله بإهلاكها مع الباقين في العذاب.
except his wife (about whom Allah says that) We have decreed that she shall be among those who stay behind."
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ءَالَ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
Puis lorsque les envoyés vinrent auprès de la famille de Lot
And when the messengers came to the family of Lot,
فلما وصل الملائكة المرسلون إلى لوط، قال لهم: إنكم قوم غير معروفين لي.
So when the envoys came to the household of Lot,
قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌۭ مُّنكَرُونَ
celui-ci dit: «Vous êtes [pour moi] des gens inconnus».
He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown."
فلما وصل الملائكة المرسلون إلى لوط، قال لهم: إنكم قوم غير معروفين لي.
he said: "Surely you are an unknown folk."
قَالُوا۟ بَلْ جِئْنَٰكَ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ
- Ils dirent: «Nous sommes plutôt venus à toi en apportant (le châtiment) à propos duquel ils doutaient.
They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing,
قالوا: لا تَخَفْ، فإنَّا جئنا بالعذاب الذي كان يشك فيه قومك ولا يُصَدِّقون، وجئناك بالحق من عند الله، وإنا لصادقون، فاخرج مِن بينهم ومعك أهلك المؤمنون، بعد مرور جزء من الليل، وسر أنت وراءهم؛ لئلا يتخلف منهم أحد فيناله العذاب، واحذروا أن يلتفت منكم أحد، وأسرعوا إلى حيث أمركم الله؛ لتكونوا في مكان أمين.
They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt.
وَأَتَيْنَٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَ
Et nous venons à toi avec la vérité. Et nous sommes véridiques.
And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful.
قالوا: لا تَخَفْ، فإنَّا جئنا بالعذاب الذي كان يشك فيه قومك ولا يُصَدِّقون، وجئناك بالحق من عند الله، وإنا لصادقون، فاخرج مِن بينهم ومعك أهلك المؤمنون، بعد مرور جزء من الليل، وسر أنت وراءهم؛ لئلا يتخلف منهم أحد فيناله العذاب، واحذروا أن يلتفت منكم أحد، وأسرعوا إلى حيث أمركم الله؛ لتكونوا في مكان أمين.
We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth.
فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱتَّبِعْ أَدْبَٰرَهُمْ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدٌۭ وَٱمْضُوا۟ حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَ
Pars donc avec ta famille en parie de nuit et suis leurs arrières; et que nul d'entre vous ne se retourne. Et allez là où on vous le commande».
So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded."
قالوا: لا تَخَفْ، فإنَّا جئنا بالعذاب الذي كان يشك فيه قومك ولا يُصَدِّقون، وجئناك بالحق من عند الله، وإنا لصادقون، فاخرج مِن بينهم ومعك أهلك المؤمنون، بعد مرور جزء من الليل، وسر أنت وراءهم؛ لئلا يتخلف منهم أحد فيناله العذاب، واحذروا أن يلتفت منكم أحد، وأسرعوا إلى حيث أمركم الله؛ لتكونوا في مكان أمين.
So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded."
وَقَضَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْأَمْرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَقْطُوعٌۭ مُّصْبِحِينَ
Et Nous lui annonçâmes cet ordre: que ces gens-là, au matin, seront anéantis jusqu'au dernier.
And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning.
وأوحينا إلى لوط أن قومك مستأصَلون بالهلاك عن آخرهم عند طلوع الصبح.
And We communicated to him the decree that by the morning those people will be totally destroyed.
وَجَآءَ أَهْلُ ٱلْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ
Et les habitants de la ville (Sodome) vinrent [à lui] dans la joie.
And the people of the city came rejoicing.
وجاء أهل مدينة لوط إلى لوط حين علموا بمن عنده من الضيوف، وهم فرحون يستبشرون بضيوفه؛ ليأخذوهم ويفعلوا بهم الفاحشة.
In the meantime the people of the city came to Lot rejoicing.
قَالَ إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ضَيْفِى فَلَا تَفْضَحُونِ
- Il dit: «Ceux-ci sont mes hôtes, ne me déshonorez donc pas.
[Lot] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me.
قال لهم لوط: إن هؤلاء ضيفي وهم في حمايتي فلا تفضحوني، وخافوا عقاب الله، ولا تتعرضوا لهم، فتوقعوني في الذل والهوان بإيذائكم لضيوفي.
He said: "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me.
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ
Et craignez Allah. Et ne me couvrez pas d'ignominie.»
And fear Allah and do not disgrace me."
قال لهم لوط: إن هؤلاء ضيفي وهم في حمايتي فلا تفضحوني، وخافوا عقاب الله، ولا تتعرضوا لهم، فتوقعوني في الذل والهوان بإيذائكم لضيوفي.
Have fear of Allah, and do not humiliate me."
قَالُوٓا۟ أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
Ils dirent: «Ne t'avions-nous pas interdit de [recevoir] du monde?»
They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?"
قال قومه: أولم نَنْهَكَ أن تضيِّف أحدا من العالمين؛ لأنَّا نريد منهم الفاحشة؟
They replied: "Did we not forbid you again and again to extend hospitality to all and sundry?"
قَالَ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِىٓ إِن كُنتُمْ فَٰعِلِينَ
Il dit: «Voici mes filles, si vous voulez faire [quelque chose]!»
[Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]."
قال لوط لهم: هؤلاء نساؤكم بناتي فتزوَّجوهن إن كنتم تريدون قضاء وطركم، وسماهن بناته؛ لأن نبي الأمة بمنزلة الأب لهم، ولا تفعلوا ما حرَّم الله عليكم من إتيان الرجال.
Lot exclaimed in exasperation: "If you are bent on doing something, then here are my daughters."
لَعَمْرُكَ إِنَّهُمْ لَفِى سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
Par ta vie! ils se confondaient dans leur délire.
By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly.
يقسم الخالق بمن يشاء وبما يشاء، أما المخلوق فلا يجوز له القسم إلا بالله، وقد أقسم الله تعالى بحياة محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم تشريفًا له. إن قوم لوط في غفلة شديدة يترددون ويتمادون، حتى حلَّتْ بهم صاعقة العذاب وقت شروق الشمس.
By your life, (O Prophet), they went about blindly stumbling in their intoxication.
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَ
Alors, au lever du soleil le Cri (la catastrophe) les saisit.
So the shriek seized them at sunrise.
يقسم الخالق بمن يشاء وبما يشاء، أما المخلوق فلا يجوز له القسم إلا بالله، وقد أقسم الله تعالى بحياة محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم تشريفًا له. إن قوم لوط في غفلة شديدة يترددون ويتمادون، حتى حلَّتْ بهم صاعقة العذاب وقت شروق الشمس.
Then the mighty Blast caught them at sunrise,
فَجَعَلْنَا عَٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةًۭ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ
Et Nous renversâmes [la ville] de fond en comble et fîmes pleuvoir sur eux des pierres d'argile dure.
And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay.
فقلبنا قُراهم فجعلنا عاليها سافلها، وأمطرنا عليهم حجارة من طين متصلب متين.
and turned the land upside down, and rained down stones of baked clay.
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَٰتٍۢ لِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ
Voilà vraiment des preuves, pour ceux qui savent observer!
Indeed in that are signs for those who discern.
إن فيما أصابهم لَعظاتٍ للناظرين المعتبرين، وإن قراهم لفي طريق ثابت يراها المسافرون المارُّون بها. إن في إهلاكنا لهم لَدلالةً بيِّنةً للمصدقين العاملين بشرع الله.
There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence.
وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٍۢ مُّقِيمٍ
Elle [cette ville] se trouvait sur un chemin connu de tous.
And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road.
إن فيما أصابهم لَعظاتٍ للناظرين المعتبرين، وإن قراهم لفي طريق ثابت يراها المسافرون المارُّون بها. إن في إهلاكنا لهم لَدلالةً بيِّنةً للمصدقين العاملين بشرع الله.
The place (where this occurred) lies along a known route.
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Voilà vraiment une exhortation pour les croyants!
Indeed in that is a sign for the believers.
إن فيما أصابهم لَعظاتٍ للناظرين المعتبرين، وإن قراهم لفي طريق ثابت يراها المسافرون المارُّون بها. إن في إهلاكنا لهم لَدلالةً بيِّنةً للمصدقين العاملين بشرع الله.
Verily there is a Sign in this for the believers.
وَإِن كَانَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأَيْكَةِ لَظَٰلِمِينَ
Et les habitants d'al-Aïka étaient [aussi] des injustes.
And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers.
وقد كان أصحاب المدينة الملتفة الشجر -وهم قوم شعيب- ظالمين لأنفسهم لكفرهم بالله ورسولهم الكريم، فانتقمنا منهم بالرجفة وعذاب يوم الظلة، وإن مساكن قوم لوط وشعيب لفي طريق واضح يمرُّ بهما الناس في سفرهم فيعتبرون.
And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers.
فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
Nous Nous sommes donc vengés d'eux. Et ces deux [cités], vraiment, sont sur une route bien évidente [que vous connaissez].
So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway.
وقد كان أصحاب المدينة الملتفة الشجر -وهم قوم شعيب- ظالمين لأنفسهم لكفرهم بالله ورسولهم الكريم، فانتقمنا منهم بالرجفة وعذاب يوم الظلة، وإن مساكن قوم لوط وشعيب لفي طريق واضح يمرُّ بهما الناس في سفرهم فيعتبرون.
So We chastised them. The desolate locations of both communities lie on a well-known highway.
وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْحِجْرِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
Certes, les gens d'al-Hijr ont traité de menteurs les messagers.
And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers.
ولقد كذَّب سكان "وادي الحِجْر" صالحًا عليه السلام، وهم ثمود فكانوا بذلك مكذبين لكل المرسلين؛ لأن من كذَّب نبيًا فقد كذَّب الأنبياء كلهم؛ لأنهم على دين واحد.
Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars.
وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْ ءَايَٰتِنَا فَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ
Nous leur avons montré Nos miracles, mais ils s'en étaient détournés.
And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away.
وآتينا قوم صالح آياتنا الدالة على صحة ما جاءهم به صالح من الحق، ومن جملتها الناقة، فلم يعتبروا بها، وكانوا عنها مبتعدين معرضين.
We also gave them Our Signs, yet they turned away from them.
وَكَانُوا۟ يَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا ءَامِنِينَ
Et ils taillaient des maisons dans les montagnes, vivant en sécurité.
And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure.
وكانوا ينحتون الجبال، فيتخذون منها بيوتًا، وهم آمنون من أن تسقط عليهم أو تخرب.
They used to hew out houses from the mountains and lived in security.
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِينَ
Puis, au matin, le Cri les saisit.
But the shriek seized them at early morning.
فأخذتهم صاعقة العذاب وقت الصباح مبكرين، فما دفع عنهم عذابَ الله الأموالُ والحصونُ في الجبال، ولا ما أُعطوه من قوة وجاه.
Then the Blast caught them in the morning
فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ
Ce qu'ils avaient acquis ne leur a donc point profité.
So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn.
فأخذتهم صاعقة العذاب وقت الصباح مبكرين، فما دفع عنهم عذابَ الله الأموالُ والحصونُ في الجبال، ولا ما أُعطوه من قوة وجاه.
and whatever they had been earning proved of no avail.
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ ۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَءَاتِيَةٌۭ ۖ فَٱصْفَحِ ٱلصَّفْحَ ٱلْجَمِيلَ
Et Nous n'avons créé les cieux et la terre, et ce qui est entre eux, que pour une juste raison. Et l'Heure [sans aucun doute] arrivera! Pardonne-[leur] donc d'un beau pardon.
And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness.
وما خلَقْنا السموات والأرض وما بينهما إلا بالحق دالتين على كمال خالقهما واقتداره، وأنه الذي لا تنبغي العبادة إلا له وحده لا شريك له. وإن الساعة التي تقوم فيها القيامة لآتية لا محالة؛ لتوفَّى كل نفس بما عملت، فاعف -أيها الرسول- عن المشركين، واصفح عنهم وتجاوز عما يفعلونه.
We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them except with Truth. Surely the Hour will come. So, (O Muhammad), do graciously overlook them (despite their misdeeds).
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلْخَلَّٰقُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
Ton Seigneur, c'est Lui vraiment le grand Créateur, l'Omniscient.
Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator.
إنَّ ربك هو الخلاَّق لكل شيء، العليم به، فلا يعجزه شيء في الأرض ولا في السماء، ولا يخفى عليه.
Your Lord is indeed the Creator of all, the All-Knowing.
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَٰكَ سَبْعًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْمَثَانِى وَٱلْقُرْءَانَ ٱلْعَظِيمَ
Nous t'avons certes donné «les sept versets que l'on répète», ainsi que le Coran sublime.
And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an.
ولقد آتيناك -أيها النبي- فاتحة القرآن، وهي سبع آيات تكرر في كل صلاة، وآتيناك القرآن العظيم.
We have indeed bestowed on you the seven oft-repeated verses and the Great Qur'an.
لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِۦٓ أَزْوَٰجًۭا مِّنْهُمْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Ne regarde surtout pas avec envie les choses dont Nous avons donné jouissance temporaire à certains couples d'entre eux, ne t'afflige pas à leur sujet et abaisse ton aile pour les croyants.
Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers
لا تنظر بعينيك وتتمنَّ ما مَتَّعْنا به أصنافًا من الكفار مِن مُتَع الدنيا، ولا تحزن على كفرهم، وتواضَعْ للمؤمنين بالله ورسوله.
Do not even cast your eyes towards the worldly goods We have granted to different kinds of people, nor grieve over the state they are in, but turn your loving attention to the believers instead,
وَقُلْ إِنِّىٓ أَنَا ٱلنَّذِيرُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
Et dis: «Je suis l'avertisseur évident» (d'un châtiment),
And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" -
وقل: إني أنا المنذر الموضِّح لما يهتدي به الناس إلى الإيمان بالله رب العالمين، ومنذركم أن يصيبكم العذاب، كما أنزله الله على الذين قسَّموا القرآن، فآمنوا ببعضه، وكفروا ببعضه الآخر من اليهود والنصارى وغيرهم.
and clearly tell the unbelievers: "I am most certainly a plain warner,"
كَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَى ٱلْمُقْتَسِمِينَ
De même que Nous avons fait descendre [le châtiment] sur ceux qui ont juré (entre eux),
Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators
وقل: إني أنا المنذر الموضِّح لما يهتدي به الناس إلى الإيمان بالله رب العالمين، ومنذركم أن يصيبكم العذاب، كما أنزله الله على الذين قسَّموا القرآن، فآمنوا ببعضه، وكفروا ببعضه الآخر من اليهود والنصارى وغيرهم.
even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments;
ٱلَّذِينَ جَعَلُوا۟ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ عِضِينَ
ceux qui ont fait du Coran des fractions diverses, (pour créer des doutes).
Who have made the Qur'an into portions.
وهم الذين جعلوا القرآن أقسامًا وأجزاء، فمنهم من يقول: سحر، ومنهم من يقول كَهَانة، ومنهم من يقول غير ذلك، يصرِّفونه بحسب أهوائهم؛ ليصدوا الناس عن الهدى.
those who had split up their Qur'an into pieces.
فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْـَٔلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Par ton Seigneur! Nous les interrogerons tous
So by your Lord, We will surely question them all
فوربك لنحاسبنَّهم يوم القيامة ولنجزينهم أجمعين، عن تقسيمهم للقرآن بافتراءاتهم، وتحريفه وتبديله، وغير ذلك مما كانوا يعملونه من عبادة الأوثان، ومن المعاصي والآثام. وفي هذا ترهيب وزجر لهم من الإقامة على هذه الأفعال القبيحة.
By your Lord, We will question them all
عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
sur ce qu'ils œuvraient.
About what they used to do.
فوربك لنحاسبنَّهم يوم القيامة ولنجزينهم أجمعين، عن تقسيمهم للقرآن بافتراءاتهم، وتحريفه وتبديله، وغير ذلك مما كانوا يعملونه من عبادة الأوثان، ومن المعاصي والآثام. وفي هذا ترهيب وزجر لهم من الإقامة على هذه الأفعال القبيحة.
concerning what they have been doing.
فَٱصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
Expose donc clairement ce qu'on t'a commandé et détourne-toi des associateurs.
Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists.
فاجهر بدعوة الحق التي أمرك الله بها، ولا تبال بالمشركين، فقد برَّأك الله ممَّا يقولون.
(O Prophet), proclaim what you are commanded, and pay no heed to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity.
إِنَّا كَفَيْنَٰكَ ٱلْمُسْتَهْزِءِينَ
Nous t'avons effectivement défendu vis-à-vis des railleurs.
Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers
إنَّا كَفَيْناك المستهزئين الساخرين من زعماء قريش، الذين اتخذوا شريكًا مع الله من الأوثان وغيرها، فسوف يعلمون عاقبة عملهم في الدنيا والآخرة.
Surely We suffice to deal with those who scoff at you,
ٱلَّذِينَ يَجْعَلُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ ۚ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
Ceux qui associent à Allah une autre divinité. Mais ils sauront bientôt.
Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know.
إنَّا كَفَيْناك المستهزئين الساخرين من زعماء قريش، الذين اتخذوا شريكًا مع الله من الأوثان وغيرها، فسوف يعلمون عاقبة عملهم في الدنيا والآخرة.
those who set up another deity alongside Allah. They shall soon come to know.
وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ
Et Nous savons certes que ta poitrine se serre, à cause de ce qu'ils disent.
And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say.
ولقد نعلم بانقباض صدرك -أيها الرسول-؛ بسبب ما يقوله المشركون فيك وفي دعوتك.
We certainly know that their statements sorely grieve you.
فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ
Glorifie donc Ton Seigneur par Sa louange et sois de ceux qui se prosternent;
So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him].
فافزع إلى ربك عند ضيق صدرك، وسَبِّح بحمده شاكرًا له مثنيا عليه، وكن من المصلِّين لله العابدين له، فإن ذلك يكفيك ما أهمَّك.
When (you feel so) glorify your Lord with His praise and prostrate yourself before Him,
وَٱعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَكَ ٱلْيَقِينُ
et adore ton Seigneur jusqu'à ce que te vienne la certitude (la mort).
And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death).
واستمِرَّ في عبادة ربك مدة حياتك حتى يأتيك اليقين، وهو الموت. وامتثل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أمر ربه، فلم يزل دائبًا في عبادة الله، حتى أتاه اليقين من ربه.
and worship your Lord until the last moment (of your life) that will most certainly come.
